Morning Star Church hosts two MOPS groups that meet on opposite Fridays. Both groups offer identical themes, speakers, crafts and children’s curriculum. Because of the childcare planning required, participants are asked to *only* attend meetings for the group they are registered under.
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) provides support for moms of children birth – kindergarten aged. This group is an open, accepting place for all mothers to come, just as they are, to experience authentic community, personal growth, practical help and spiritual hope. MOPS exists to encourage, equip, and develop every mom to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader.
Meetings include fellowship, devotions, speakers, crafts, service projects, and more. We also host monthly playgroups and social events throughout the year. For more information about MOPS International visit www.mops.org.
While moms are attending MOPS meetings, children (infants through kindergarten) enjoy their own program–MOPS Kids! Children are divided into age groups and are involved in planned activities that provide social growth and spiritual enrichment. Children under 6 months may attend meetings with mom.
Q:How old does my baby need to be to attend MOPS Kids?
A: We encourage all moms to register their babies with MOPS Kids if they are going to be aged 6 months or older by September 2019. Since we only have 15 baby spots/group and this room typically reaches capacity first, we suggest you register ASAP. All babies under 6 months of age by September 2019 are welcome to attend our meetings with their mothers.
Q: How much is childcare?
A: Our MOPS dues include childcare if you are utilizing MOPS Kids (infant-preK age). Dues are $50 for each semester.
If you are not utilizing MOPS Kids childcare for the fall and/or spring, your MSC MOPS Dues are only $25/semester.
Q: My elementary kiddo(s) will need to attend some meetings due to school being off. Do I pay the $50 registration or the $25?
A: Unless you are utilizing MOPS Kids childcare at every meeting, you will only need to pay the $25 dues. Elementary care will be offered only on school district closings and/or holidays. A childcare donation of $5 will be collected per family for these dates, and pre-arrangements and reservations must be made with the childcare coordinator. More information will be shared closer to the start of our fall semester.
