The Morning Star Church homeless ministry has multiple opportunities and locations to serve and show love for your brothers and sisters in our community. We partner with an organization that works closely with affected families to find solutions and transformation through the power of the Gospel.

We Serve our neighbors in St. Charles County through First Step Back Home (FSBH) – First Step Back Home (FSBH) is a faith-based Christian ministry that primarily serves the temporarily homeless and working poor on their journey toward stability. FSBH coordinates meals daily to approximately 25 guests at the Economy Inn at 1400 Continental Drive in Wentzville, Missouri. Morning Star Church has committed to serve on 2-3 of those days each month. This is a great way for your family, friends, Life Groups, youth group, colleagues, classmates, neighbors or any other small group to serve the community. Serving typically takes about 1 hour. Life really is better when we’re connected to God and others!

VOLUNTEER DETAILS – Members of the Homeless Ministry receive an email each month announcing the opportunities to serve. Volunteers who would like to serve sign up for the day they want to serve and upon request, can be partnered with others to lessen the financial expense of preparing a meal for 25+ people. Additionally, we often receive food donations which are available to volunteers to prepare their dishes. Volunteers are responsible for bringing everything needed to serve their meal. This includes a well-balanced meal, serving utensils, gloves for volunteers, plates, bowls (if needed), plastic ware, drinks and dessert. Given space constraints in the lobby, we are unable to dine with guests. Rather, they come into the hotel lobby and then take their meal back to their room. For some adults and children we serve, this is the only meal they will have that day.
