At Morning Star Church, we know that we can’t be spiritually mature while remaining emotionally immature. We know that growing in relationship with Jesus requires more than the typical things Christians do (e.g. attend church services, pray, study the Bible, volunteer, financially give to the work of the church, and invite others to know God’s love). We know that if we are truly going to love God well and love others well, we must courageously open up the below-the-surface (inner) aspects of our lives to God’s transforming power.
Each year, we offer the Emotionally Healthy Discipleship Course in two parts–Part I: The Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Course (EHS) where we learn to love God well and Part II: The Emotionally Healthy Relationships Course (EHR) where we learn skills that help us love others well.
PART 1 (EHS Course)
PART 2 (EHR Course)
NOTE: WE ARE SORRY, BUT REGISTRATION FOR THE EHR CLASS IS NOW CLOSED.
The Emotionally Healthy Relationships (EHR) Course is a 10-session growth opportunity for adults (mature teenagers ages 16 and above with permission from the EHR point leader) who are seeking a high-commitment deep discipleship experience that helps them move from defensiveness, low self-awareness, fear, blaming, etc. to becoming approachable, non-reactive, keenly self-aware, courageous, honest, and whole. Through video teachings, reading assignments, devotional practice, table group discussions, and by practicing 8 new skills with others, participants (singles and couples) will learn practical ways to love others like Jesus.

It’s ideal to take the EHS Course first, but it’s okay to take the courses in any order that works for you. We recommend that you take each course several times to fully absorb and “live” the material. Each course requires approximately 2 hours of homework each week. Please note: we ask you to register for the courses when you know you will not miss more than one class. Seating is limited.
