Every Thursday | 6 – 9 p.m. | Morning Star Church – The Auditorium

The goal of the Celebrate Recovery program is not simply to recover from past sins and hurts. The goal is to become Christlike in character. No sign up’s or reservation are necessary to participate, and you do not need to be a member of Morning Star Church to attend. Just come as you are, and you will be met with the love and transforming power that comes from Christ. For further question’s on this ministry, contact Shane Laswell.

Celebrate Recovery is a faith-based 12-step program that:
– Is based on God’s Word
– Focuses on the future
– Addresses all types of habits, hurts and hang-ups

THURSDAY SCHEDULE

6-7 p.m. – Dinner in the Lobby or outside (weather permitting)
7-8 p.m. – Large Group and Worship
8-9 p.m. – Small Group Open Share

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We begin to grow spiritually by working through the Christ-centered 12-steps and applying their eight Recovery principles found in the Beatitudes of Matthew 5. We begin to experience freedom from our compulsive, dysfunctional and addictive behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy (Gal. 5:22), and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. We discover our personal, loving and forgiving higher power–Jesus Christ, as we progress through the program.

WHO'S IT FOR?

Celebrate recovery is for anyone struggling with a hurt, habit or hang-up. A hurt, habit or hang-up is something that hinders our walk with God. The feeling of being HURT is an emotional reaction to another person’s behavior or a disturbing situation. (i.e., abuse, abandonment, divorce, co-dependency, rejection, relationship issues, etc.) A HABIT is an addiction to alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, pornography, shopping, smoking, etc. HANG-UPS are negative mental attitudes that are used to cope with people or adversity. (Anger, depression, fear, shame, unforgiveness, etc.)

IS CHILDCARE OFFERED?

Yes! We offer childcare at no cost. To register for childcare, please email Shane Laswell.

GOT KIDS? CELEBRATION PLACE

Celebration Place

Every Thursday | 7 – 9 p.m. | Morning Star Church

Celebration Place will run as a complementary children’s resource to Celebrate Recovery. So while adults explore topics that bring healing and wholeness, kids discover the same truths in age-appropriate ways! Celebration Place gives kids 5-12 years old …

  • truths that help them avoid cycles of hurts, hang-ups, and habits.
  • ways to draw close to Jesus during challenging times.
  • language and experiences to understand what’s happening in their homes.
  • friendships with other children whose parents are taking the hard step of resolving their pain and moving forward in life.

Celebration Place will lead kids in making Jesus the foundation of their lives; break cycles of dysfunction; and join their parents in forgiveness and healing.

SCHEDULE

Celebration Place will gather every Thursday night during Celebrate Recovery. Their schedule will be:

  • 6 to 7 p.m. – BBQ/Connect Time

GOT TEENS? THE LANDING

The Landing

Every Thursday | 6 – 9 p.m. | Morning Star Church

The Landing is a 52-week process for any teen who is struggling and is based on the 8 principles found in Matthew. The Landing is designed to run concurrently with Celebrate Recovery and Celebration Place (CR for Kids); the Landing completes the group of resources for the entire family.
